Decide the access point:

Decide what access you would use for the power recliner. In most cases, the power recliner is plugged to a wall socket. 

Plug to the wall socket:

Plug the other end of the 2 pin plug to the wall socket. Or if you are using a battery backup, locate the end socket of the battery and plug the end of the pin there. 

Press the start switch:

Plugging in the pin should make the power recliner start automatically. But sometimes you might have to press the start switch, which is also located at the side of the recliner.

Plugging the power recliner is not a very difficult task. You just have to make sure you don’t use an extension cord or the surge protector. Locate the plug and switch and determine the access of electricity beforehand

Do power recliners have battery backup?

If your power recliner is electric controlled, then it will have a battery backup. There is usually an adapter box attached to the power recliner. Near that, you should find the battery compartment. An electric recliner needs battery backup.

That is why the recliner has a built-in battery backup.

In case of a power recliner which needs to be plugged in, putting it down manually can be a difficult feat. Most power recliners need electricity to start and run. In cases like this, it is not possible to put down the power recliners manually. 

In fact, it will be very difficult to even operate the power recliner without any electric access. 

Some modern day power recliners offer battery backup, which can help the recliners to run without electric access. For these power recliners you can put them down manually. But in case of plugged in power recliners, you will need electric access to put it down.
