Vinegar has always been my most favorite cleaning product. I use vinegar in almost everything I want to clean. Is that a bad thing? Well, I hope not.

The fact that I like the most about vinegar is that it is an environmentally friendly product. It is quite cheap as well, which attracts me even more.

Why would anyone want to use those harsh and expensive chemical products when you have vinegar? I’ve been using different mixtures made from vinegar for cleaning purposes for a while.

I always wanted to share a few of these uses with you. Well, it took me a while to organize all of my ideas together.

I have gathered the 13 best ways to use vinegar for cleaning. I’ve been suggesting these to my friends for months. And I actually made them do it to the point they got really annoyed.

Cleaning Floors with Vinegar

Let’s begin with floors – my topmost priority while cleaning my house. I use vinegar to clean my hardwood floors all the time.

Just use a half cup of vinegar in a gallon of water. Yes, it is as simple as that. Your hardwood floor will be like all clean and new.

Deep Clean a Microwave with Vinegar

We all must admit that we have at least use vinegar once in our lifetime to clean microwave. All you will need to do is to microwave a mixture of white vinegar and water.

Take a glass bowl and fill it with 1 part of vinegar and 1 part of water. Microwave the mixture for around 3 minutes so that the mixture starts boiling.

Take a piece of a soft cloth and wipe the surface of the microwave. It will remove all the grease and dirt from your microwave.

Kitchen Countertops & Vinegar

I use white vinegar to clean my kitchen countertop at least once a week. Before applying vinegar, pour the white vinegar on a spray bottle.

Spray on the countertop and wipe the surface with a rag. Make sure the rag is wet and warm.

There is one thing that you will need to keep in mind. Never use vinegar if your countertop is made of granite. Otherwise, you are good to go.

Refrigerator Cleaning

Well, using chemical products to clean your refrigerator is never a good idea. You cannot use a harsh chemical in the same place you store your food.

That is why I love using vinegar to clean my refrigerator. Make a mixture of white vinegar and water by adding the same amount of product.

If you find it inconvenient to make a mixture every now and then, you can store the mixture in the fridge as well.

Cleaning Refrigerator with Vinegar

I dislike it when my shower door is full of soap scum. I have been looking for a solution to prevent it for a while.

After I have started using white vinegar, my shower door stays free of soap scum, and I love it. You can simply use white vinegar on your shower door without mixing it with water.

Take a sponge, pour some white vinegar, and wipe the area well. Voila! Your shower door will be crystal clear and clean.

Clean Your Wine Glasses with Vinegar

No one likes a cloudy wine glass. I hardly use my wine glasses, but when I use them, I want my wine glasses to be clean and sparkling.

To make your wine glass look like new, soak them in the sink with vinegar. Wait for 4-5 minutes. Then, wash with normal water.

Vinegar works well to remove watermarks because the particles in vinegar dissolve the mineral. Give it a try to see if it works or not.

Vinegar Easily Cleans Paint Brushes

Have you ever faced a situation where your paintbrush has become hardened and completely useless? Don’t throw away your paintbrush yet; I have the proper solution to soften your paintbrush.

Take a bowl and fill it with white vinegar. Soak your paintbrush for a few minutes, then wash with soapy water.

Well, it is quite obvious to use vinegar for our laundry. If you are tired of these fabric softeners, it is time for you to start using vinegar.

Vinegar works as a great fabric softener. Simply use 1 cup of vinegar in your washing machine.

You will see the magic in a few minutes. Your clothes will come out soft. I’ve been using vinegar as an alternative to fabric softener for a while, and I love it.

White Vinegar for Dishwasher Cleaning

I always used those commercial agents to clean my dishwasher until a friend of mine suggested me to use white vinegar.

Also, commercial agents are quite pricey and not always effective. Fill the reservoir with white vinegar. It is all you will need to do.

Your dishwasher will be cleaner than before. The dishes will sparkle as well.

Cleaning Bathtub with Vinegar

You can use vinegar to clean your bathtub. Here, you can use apple cider vinegar as well.

But make sure you are mixing it with water at first. You can also add a few drops of lemon essential oil with the mixture.

Your bathtub will be mildew-free and provide a fresh and nice smell.

Effectively Clean Carpets with Vinegar

Cleaning carpets can be a challenge. If you are a lazy person like me, you will understand it. I dislike cleaning when it comes to clean carpets.

But cleaning carpet stains have become easier once I have started using vinegar. You can use apple cider vinegar and salt to remove hard stains from the carpet.

Two tablespoons of salt will be enough to add with the apple cider vinegar. After removing the stain, vacuum your carpet.

Baby Toys Are No Different

As a parent, I know how important it is to disinfect baby toys. If you have a toddler, you will need to be very careful regarding your baby toys.

I use white vinegar and warm water to disinfect my baby’s toys. You can use an old toothbrush to clean those little toys.

Vinegar Cleaning for Scorch Marks 

Vinegar works the best in terms of getting rid of scorch marks. Whether the scorch mark is at the bottom of an iron, a mirror, or your clothes.

Take a piece of soft cloth and dip it in white vinegar. Use the piece of cloth to rub against the bottom of the iron.

Vinegar will help you to get rid of the scorch marks very easily.
