19 Laundry Room Organization Hacks to Make Your Life Easier

Keeping my laundry room clean and organized is one of the hardest tasks for me. Whenever I think about doing my laundry, I try to find an excuse to do it later.

If you are like me, you should know these laundry room organization hacks. My laundry room used to be a mess. Recently, I have been following a few organizing hacks that keep my laundry room systematized.

The one thing that I noticed is that it takes me less time to do laundry than before. Also, I don’t get annoyed at all.

I turn on my favorite songs and do my laundry, which keeps me quite cheerful. These laundry room organizing hacks will help you to do your laundry fast.

You will never find any kind of excuse to do it later, anymore!

The Best Laundry Room Organization Hacks You Can Try

1. Mount a Wall Organizer in your laundry room to hang the brooms and trays

I have mounted a wall organizer on the right side of my washer. I hang the brooms, mops, and trays here.

You will never need to kneel down to find your brooms and mops ever again. I also have a similar one in my kitchen.

2. Place a few floating shelves

I installed a floating shelve above my washer. It helps me to store all the necessary items while I do laundry.

I made three separate sections and attached them to the wall. You can also put a small basket on the floating shelve to store your undergarments.

3. Make a DIY hanging rack to hang your clothes

I hate to fold my clothes right away after doing laundry. I made a DIY hanging rack so that I can organize them later on.

I keep around 10 hangers in the rack. It is enough for me to hang my shirts, dresses, and other clothes. You can place the hanger on any corner of your laundry room.

4. Make a few cabinets for your laundry room to store items

When I moved into the house, I didn’t have separate cabinets in my laundry room. I decided to add a few cabinets to store all the items.

I installed a few cabinets myself. It helps me to keep all the items like detergent, paper towel, soap, tide pods, etc.

5. Attach a wire shelf above your washing machine to place laundry baskets

I prefer to use small baskets to store my clothes. I have a wire shelf above my washer and dryer, where I keep the baskets.

As a result, I don’t need to hold the basket while placing the clothes in the washer. Rather, I use the wire shelf to hold the baskets.

6. Install a table above your washing machine to fold clothes

I installed a small table or surface to fold my clothes. I used the space above my washer and dryer as the space is unused.

It helps me to fold my clothes right away when I am in a hurry.

7. Make proper use of the space between your washer and dryer

There is always a tiny gap between the washer and the dryer. Well, I made a tiny cabinet, and I use it whenever I need to.

The purpose of making the cabinet was to make the full use of the space in my laundry room.

8. Don’t forget to install a few towel hooks in the wall

I installed around 5 towel hooks in one of the walls of my laundry room. The towel hooks come in great help whenever I need to hang any of my clothes.

9. Purchase a few cloth baskets to place your laundry

I have 3 separate cloth baskets in my laundry room. I use them to separate my white cloths, colorful clothes, socks, and undergarments.

It helps me to stay organized while I do my laundry.

10. Make a hanging drying rack

You can use the space in your ceiling properly by making a hanging drying rack. You can purchase one from George and Willy.

On the other hand, you can make yourself one if you are comfortable doing woodworks.

11. Use glass containers to store detergent and soap

I use glass containers to store all the liquid soaps and detergent. I use little colorful ribbons to decorate them as well.

Using glass containers will let you find your desired cleaning product at the right time.

12. Label the cleaning products

For me, labeling is one of the best ways to stay organized. Just like my kitchen, I label my cleaning items as well.

13. Store the Tide Pods in a glass jar

I use my kid’s candy jars to store the Tide Pods. Also, I keep these in the uppermost cabinet of my laundry room so that my kid never gets confused seeing his candy jar.

14. Place your ironing board at one corner of the laundry room

There is a separate corner in my laundry room to keep my ironing board. I always prefer to iron my clothes at once. As a result, it saves me a lot of time.

15. Make a DIY laundry basket organizer

On the right side of my laundry room’s door, I have a separate shelve to store my baskets.

I have made it myself to keep my clothes separately. I have a total of 5 sections in the DIY organizer.

16. Make a rack to store all the cleaning products and paper towels

Well, you will need quite a large space to store all of your cleaning products. Place the paper towels, detergent, soap, washing powder in a rack.

Also, make sure the rack is near your washer so that you can reach it easily.

17. Add a few extra shelves if you have enough space

There is no alternative to adding shelves in the laundry room. The more shelves you will have, the more organized you will be.

You can place flower vases or pictures on these shelves. Or you can use them to store your items.

18. Label the drawers and baskets

I love the transparent labels that I purchased from the dollar store. I keep my detergent, soap, washing powder, etc. separately.

As a result, it used to take me quite a time to find the right product at the right time. after I started to label the drawers and the baskets, I find them in not.

19. Make a separate drawer for your socks

Have you ever been in the situation when you found one sock and another on of the pair got lost? Well, it happens to me all the time.

That is why I made a separate drawer to store the socks only.

These are all the laundry room organizing hacks that I have been following for a while. I must say, that these hacks have made me more efficient than before.
